I purchased this book because I am writing a doctoral dissertation about fear of sex offenders. This book is exactly the type of content that I have been looking for: biased, blind hatred with suggestions to readers to "shoot to kill" if approached by a sex offender.If you want to learn the real truth about sex offenders, please do some outside research before reading this book. The author is a psychologist, but being in a forensic psychology doctoral progam myself, he does not seem to be ethical as he practices with sex offenders, even though he has an obvious hatred towards them and has personal events in his life that can impact his interactions. From what I have learned, this is the most unethical way to practice psychology.
This book is the exact reason why there is so much panic regarding sex offenders. Yes, we should be careful, and yes the crimes committed by sex offenders are horrible, but the information in this book is misinformed and grossly overstated. Please don't allow yourself to become consumed by these ideas as many of them could not be further from the truth.

While I am all about reducing the risk to our children, this book is nothing but vitriol with no evidence to back up any of the authors claims.
